What started as a conversation with magician and puzzle master Chris Ramsay quickly spiraled into something far bigger — a shared obsession with the space between magic and mechanics.
Two years, six design iterations, and a stack of prototypes later, we landed here: The WESN x 1ST Puzzle Box and Microblade.

THE WESN x 1ST PUZZLE BOX
First is the WESN x 1ST Magic Puzzle Box — a weighty, all-metal mechanical puzzle crafted from solid brass and aluminum. Equal parts tactile toy and display-worthy artifact, this box is precision-machined for a satisfying, hands-on puzzle that rewards patience and curiosity.

Upon solving the puzzle lies real surprise inside: a reimagined version of our bestselling Microblade. Built with a hidden mechanism inspired handle in raw brass and titanium, this knife invites you to see its inner workings. Closed, the blade can be seen just through the knife’s see through handle. Open, it reveals the elegant guts of its build.

THE PRODUCT JOURNEY
With Chris and his team, we wanted to challenge the idea of what a knife or puzzle could be — to blend storytelling, precision, and misdirection into one layered experience.
Early in the knife development journey, Chris revealed he had never actually made his own puzzle before. We were intent on taking this on. So Chris came with the idea, and we got to work bringing it to life.
The process took way longer than we expected. Turns out making a fully mechanical puzzle is completely different from pocket knives. But we persevered, and we believe the wait was worth it.
This isn’t just a product — it’s a reveal. We won’t say it’s the most experiential knife unboxing ever crafted. But we’d understand if you did.
